The J-45 Standard Rosewood: the trusted slope-shoulder formula with the harmonic richness of rosewood back and sides
The Gibson J-45 Standard is the best-selling acoustic Gibson model of all time, and the Rosewood version adds an extra dimension to the already proven formula. While the classic J-45 uses mahogany for the back and sides, rosewood brings harmonic complexity, shimmering highs, and defined bass that makes the J-45 sound richer and more layered. The Sitka Spruce top on solid rosewood delivers a tone that is warm and direct, but with more detail and overtone structure than the standard mahogany combination. The LR Baggs VTC pickup transparently captures all of this.
The SlimTaper mahogany neck feels fast and comfortable in the hand, and the 24.75-inch scale length gives the J-45 its familiar playing feel. The MOP dot inlays, the Reverse Belly rosewood bridge, and the nitrocellulose Rosewood Burst finish give this instrument a stylish look that matches its enhanced tonal richness. Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure stable tuning.
The rosewood fretboard has 20 frets over a 12-inch radius. TUSQ nut and bridge pins complete an instrument that combines the J-45 heritage with the tonal qualities of one of the most coveted guitar backwoods. Delivered with a Gibson hardshell case.
