The L-00 Rosewood 12-Fret: the depth and shimmer of rosewood in Gibson's most comfortable and intimate format
The Gibson L-00 has been a benchmark for small acoustic guitars since the 1930s, and the Rosewood 12-Fret version combines that heritage with two features that elevate the model to a higher level. The rosewood back and sides add a harmonic depth, shimmering highs, and defined bass that the classic mahogany L-00 lacks. The 12-fret neck joint with the body moves the bridge to the center of the top's resonant zone, resulting in a richer midrange and a more balanced response across all strings. Combined with the small 00-body, this delivers an intimate yet surprisingly projecting sound that will particularly appeal to fingerpickers and singer-songwriters.
The Sitka Spruce top on solid rosewood back and sides delivers the tonal balance that makes this model so special: bright, complex, and full, yet never overloaded. The LR Baggs VTC pickup transparently captures all of this for amplified use. The Rosewood Burst finish beautifully emphasizes the warmth and depth of the rosewood.
The mahogany neck features a SlimTaper profile with a rosewood fretboard and 20 frets over a 24.75-inch scale. The nut and saddle are bone, and TUSQ bridge pins ensure optimal transfer. Comes with a hardshell case.
