The Aguilar DB 700 brings classic tube warmth to a modern 700-watt bass head
Taking that recognizable DB sound with you without having to lift a heavy amplifier head: that is the appeal of the Aguilar DB 700. This bass amplifier combines a preamp with two 12AX7 tubes with a powerful Class D power section. The result is a modern interpretation of the character of the DB 751, with 700 watts of power in a compact, rack-mountable chassis. For bassists who want to maintain their own sound both on stage and direct to the mixing desk, this head offers a versatile starting point.
That tube preamp provides full low tones, rich mids, and a clear high end that lets the details of your playing shine through. The combination of warmth and punch gives bass lines body while maintaining articulation. With the three-band EQ, you determine how the bass sits in the mix; Deep and Bright offer additional options to accentuate the low and high end. From a round accompaniment to a more direct, pronounced attack: the controls invite you to work by ear and give your instrument room to breathe.
In addition to the two 12AX7 tubes and the Class D power section, the DB 700 features dual XLR outputs, an effects loop, and a tuner output. An aux input and headphone output make practicing without a speaker possible. Via USB-C, you can connect to the Aguilar Cabinet Suite, which allows you to load cabinet IRs and refine your direct sound. The housing measures approximately 39.4 × 28.8 × 8.89 cm and weighs about 5.1 kg. Included rack ears and a universal power supply make this bass head suitable for both a permanent rack setup and a touring rig.
