The Epiphone El Capitan J-200 Studio Bass Aged Vintage Natural that elevates the acoustic bass to the level of the King of the Flat-tops
The J-200 has been known for decades as the most royal jumbo acoustic guitar in the Gibson catalog, and the El Capitan translates that heritage to the bass register. In Aged Vintage Natural, the El Capitan is at its most restrained: the natural wood of the solid Sitka spruce top speaks for itself, the corn-colored varnish gives the instrument a warmth that a colored finish does not have. The characteristic Moustache bridge, the crown inlays, and the Super Jumbo design language are unmistakably J-200.
The solid Sitka spruce top gives the El Capitan a clear attack and a wide dynamic range for an acoustic bass. The laminated mahogany back and sides add warmth and body to the sound. The Fishman Sonitone undersaddle pickup with Sonicore preamp makes it ready for stage and studio, with an amplified sound that retains the acoustic character of the bass.
Mahogany neck with Medium C-profile, Indian Laurel fretboard with Pearloid Crown inlays and 20 frets on a 30.5" scale length. Comfortable playability that won't tire you out even during long sessions. The Aged Vintage Natural finish puts the wood center stage, and does exactly what a natural finish should do: hide nothing.
The El Capitan J-200 Studio Bass Vintage Natural is for the bassist who wants to play acoustically and doesn't want to compromise.
