Earthquaker Devices Towers Reverb

Towers catapults your sound into an expansive stereo world, where resonant filters and feedback paths combine to form a living soundscape. Every note reverberates, floats, and distorts through a spatial network of reflections that is constantly in motion. Instead of simply fading away, sounds linger, grow, and slowly dissolve into an endless, multi-dimensional soundscape.

Under the hood, Towers combines a massive reverb engine with regenerating micro-echoes and a resonant low-pass filter. This filter – inspired by classic synthesizer circuits – shapes and colors the reflections at multiple points in the signal path, creating warm, dark resonances and constantly moving harmonic textures. The result is a soundscape generator that can add subtle ambience as well as build complete ambient landscapes.

The filter frequency offers three different ways to navigate this sonic universe. Manual Mode gives you full control over the filter frequency for precise sound shaping, allowing the left and right channels to move in opposing motions through the stereo field. In Envelope Mode, the filters dynamically react to your playing style, giving every attack new movement and character. LFO Mode lets a slow-moving oscillator do the work, automatically sweeping the filter through the stereo field for a constantly evolving sound.

With the Stretch footswitch, you can make Towers go even wilder. By slowing down the internal processor, the reverb is suddenly stretched: delay lines pull apart, frequencies shift, and subtle pitch-bending and lo-fi artifacts appear in the soundscape. The result is a distorted, floating soundscape that slowly expands and transforms under your feet.

Despite its experimental nature, Towers remains surprisingly practical. With Mix, Length, Filter, and Frequency, you can precisely determine how deeply the effect impacts your signal. Eight storable presets allow you to instantly recall complex settings, while an expression input provides real-time control over parameters such as Mix, Length, or Filter. Thanks to stereo inputs and outputs, Towers works equally well in a mono setup as it does in a full stereo rack.

Whether you want to add subtle spatial textures or transform your entire sound into a moving ambient universe: Towers is not an ordinary reverb, but an instrument for sound architecture.
