The sound of the SR5500 Prestige is warm, defined, and dynamic. The Mahogany body with Ovangkol top gives the instrument a rich, full fundamental tone with a natural warmth not found in Ash or Basswood. The two Nordstrand Big Single pickups deliver a clear, transparent tone with a rich midrange, and the Ibanez Sonitech preamp with 3-band EQ, EQ bypass switch, and 3-way Mid frequency switch with Hexa Mid system gives you an exceptionally broad tonal palette. The neck is constructed from Roasted Maple and Walnut with the Atlas 4-HP profile, a narrow and comfortable neck profile that makes fast passages and complex chord structures effortless. The Rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and Mother of Pearl & Abalone Oval inlays adds a premium touch to the whole. The MR5S bridge and Gotoh tuners ensure stable tuning and accurate intonation.
