The Martin D-18 is one of the most iconic acoustic guitars ever built. For decades, it has been the choice of singer-songwriters, bluegrass pickers, and studio musicians worldwide, and for good reason. This 2022 model is a beautiful example of what Martin has been doing for generations: honest, clear tone without frills, built to last a lifetime.

The sound of the D-18 is direct and open. The Sitka spruce top provides a crisp attack and wide dynamics, while the mahogany back and sides add a warm, focused overtone that is excellent for both fingerpicking and robust flatpicking. The guitar is immediately responsive, reacts well to nuance, and its tone only improves with age. The built-in LR Baggs Element VTC also makes it instantly stage-ready, with a natural, transparent amplified sound.

Under the hood, you'll find Martin's trusted scalloped X-brace construction, an ebony fretboard and bridge, nickel open-gear tuners, and a modified low oval neck profile that is comfortable for a wide range of hand sizes. The 645 mm scale length provides ample tension for a full, projecting tone.

This instrument is in excellent condition. Slight damage is visible around the endpin, which has been expertly repaired by our luthier. All other parts are original; the LR Baggs Element VTC pickup is the only modification compared to the standard version. Before shipping or collection, the instrument will be inspected and, if necessary, set up by our technician.
