The 1959 Gibson ES-355 gives the classic semi-hollow tone a luxurious look

The Gibson 1959 ES-355 Reissue VOS Vintage Natural combines the familiar character of a semi-hollow guitar with the refined aesthetic of Gibson’s luxury ES model. The natural finish lets the wood speak for itself, while multi-ply binding, gold hardware, and mother-of-pearl block inlays give this reissue its own distinct identity. The nitrocellulose VOS finish provides a subtle vintage look without distracting from the instrument itself. This is a guitar for the enthusiast who not only looks for historical details but wants to experience them under their fingers.

The three-ply maple/poplar/maple body and solid maple center block form the foundation for a tone that blends airiness with a clear, focused attack. Two unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers deliver an open, expressive sound that allows space for the nuances of your playing. From warm jazz lines to raw blues phrasing and sustained rock chords, the ES-355 invites you to play with dynamics. The rounded 1950s Medium C neck profile provides a full, familiar grip.

The solid mahogany neck features a long tenon neck joint and carries an ebony fretboard with a 12-inch radius, 22 authentic medium jumbo frets, and mother-of-pearl block inlays. The scale length is 24.75 inches, and the nylon nut is 42.85 mm wide. An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, lightweight aluminum stopbar, and Grover Rotomatic tuners complete the hardware. Two volume and two tone controls with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors offer precise control over both pickups. The three-way toggle switch and Switchcraft output jack are true to the classic design.

Are you looking for a Gibson semi-hollow that pairs a historical playing experience with an unmistakably elegant appearance? Discover how this ES-355 brings out your own touch and musical character.
