The Sterling by Music Man RAYSS4 StingRay Short Scale brings the iconic StingRay sound to a shorter 30-inch scale length. This makes it ideal for bassists with smaller hands, younger players, or anyone who simply prefers a more comfortable playing experience on a compact instrument. Sonically, the RAYSS4 delivers exactly what you'd expect from a StingRay: punch, presence, and character. The Sterling MM90 humbucker in the bridge position provides that typical, thick midrange that cuts through a mix so well. The active 2-band EQ (bass and treble) allows you to quickly adjust your sound to the room or style.
The body is made of poplar, the maple neck is bolt-on and features a maple fretboard with dot inlays and 22 frets. The hardware is solid and reliable: Sterling sealed tuning machines and a 4-saddle bridge for stable intonation. The short 30-inch scale length also makes the RAYSS4 an excellent travel bass.
