The Epiphone Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Les Paul which houses the instrument for which the original fetched 1.3 million dollars
Jeff Beck was an eight-time Grammy winner, twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and considered by many to be the most complete guitarist to have ever played. His tone, touch, and musicality were inimitable. His 1954 Les Paul in Oxblood graced the cover of Blow by Blow, the album that forever changed fusion guitar, and the original recently sold for a record-breaking 1.3 million dollars. Epiphone, in collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop, has built a tribute accessible to the guitarist who deserves this instrument.
The Gibson USA Custombuckers are the pickups Gibson reserves for its most revered historic reissues: warm, open, and with a dynamic response that fully brings out the nuances of Beck’s fingerstyle approach. The Gibson Historic Wraparound bridge is a direct reference to the original 1954 design, with the maximum tonal output and sustain characteristic of a wraparound construction. Schaller M6 90 tuners guarantee stable tuning. The one-piece mahogany neck with long neck tenon and Jeff Beck Custom Large C-profile gives the guitar the substantial feel that Beck’s playing demanded.
Mahogany body with maple cap in Oxblood, rosewood fretboard with aged MOP Trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets on a 24.75" scale, Gibson ‘openbook’ headstock with Epiphone logo and Graph Tech nut. Gold Speed Knobs and a specific pickguard that accurately reproduces the original. Includes Epiphone hardshell case and vintage-style replica strap.
The Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Les Paul is for the guitarist who wants to play the best tribute to the best.
