Underneath the striking color is a poplar body, combined with a roasted maple neck and fretboard. The black pickguard provides the design with a powerful contrast. This is a bass for players who like to shape their tone with their hands and a few straightforward controls, without having to work their way through a complicated control panel.

The single hand-wound Alnico soapbar pickup delivers a full fundamental tone where your attack remains clearly audible. Play softly for a rounder accompaniment or dig in a little harder when the part needs to come to the front. The passive volume and tone control with CTS-style potentiometers allow you to quickly find the balance between warmth and definition from there. This keeps the Roasted Saint Soap usable for both quiet bass lines and a groove that needs to be clearly heard within the band.

With its 34-inch scale length and 20 frets, this Ashdown offers a familiar size. According to the product information, the nut is 38 mm wide. On the roasted maple fretboard you will find 6 mm black dot inlays, while the headstock is finished in the same color as the body. A soapbar with a chrome cover, vintage chrome tuning machines and a glossy black pickguard complete the specified equipment. The precise bridge configuration is not mentioned in the available data, so we will not fill that in based on an assumption.

Are you curious about what a single soapbar with a good passive circuit can do for your bass sound?
