The Soloist has its roots in the collaboration between Dana Bourgeois and Eric Schoenberg in the 1980s. The design was ahead of its time: the OM shape with a 14-fret neck and long scale combines a medium-sized body with an exceptionally clear and balanced sound. The soft cutaway is a Bourgeois signature that has since been widely imitated but never surpassed. With the Aged Tone torrefied Sitka spruce top, this guitar sounds as if it has been played for years: open, resonant, and full of dynamic range. The Indian rosewood back and sides add warmth and depth, while the ebony fretboard provides excellent playing response.

The Down East OMCE Soloist is built to full Bourgeois specifications, with direct involvement from the team in Lewiston.
