The Catalinbread Soft Focus is a legendary reverb pedal, inspired by the iconic "Soft Focus" preset of the Yamaha FX500 – the effect that was central to the dreamy, atmospheric sounds of shoegaze classics such as Slowdive's Souvlaki. This pedal is designed as a direct gateway to those mythical, washy reverb and chorus textures, but with the modern reliability and flexibility you'd expect from Catalinbread.
With the Soft Focus, you get a heavily modified plate reverb, enriched with a multi-voiced chorus modulator and a subtle octave-up, providing a unique, spatial depth and a heavenly shimmer. The Symphony, Modulation, and Verb knobs allow you to create an infinite variety of sounds – from subtle, shimmering backgrounds to overwhelming, dreamy soundscapes.
