The Gibson SG is a legendary guitar, and the list of guitarists who use this tough instrument speaks for itself: Angus Young, Tony Iommi, George Harrison, Duane Allman, and Derek Trucks. The SG was first introduced as the new Les Paul model, but quickly made a name for itself. With its seemingly simple construction, the Gibson SG delivers a unique, distinctive, and very usable sound that you won't find anywhere else.

This Custom Shop '61 SG Standard in the historically accurate Cherry Red color shows how well Gibson can recreate this legendary model. The Nitrocellulose VOS finish gives the guitar an authentic vintage look, the Custombucker Alnico III pickups deliver the authentic PAF sound, and the 1960 Slim Taper neck offers the same fast and comfortable playability as the original. The headstock, the inlays, the body contour, the pickguard: this reissue is simply spot on.
