The Gibson SG Standard 61 keeping the spirit of 1961 alive in a contemporary Silver Mist finish

The Gibson SG Standard 61 Stop Bar is a direct return to the original 1961 SG design, the year Gibson transformed the Les Paul line into what many consider the most iconic guitar in rock history. The slim taper neck, double cutaway, and lightweight mahogany body make this SG an instrument that plays like an extension of your arm. Silver Mist isn't a color that screams for attention, but one that stands out on stage with class.

The BurstBucker 61R and 61T pickups are accurately recreated from the original early 1960s PAF humbuckers. They deliver an open, dynamic sound with rich midrange and an attack that responds to every nuance of your playing. The hand-wired electronics with orange drop capacitors add warmth and character rarely found in mass-produced items. From bluesy crunch to hard rock riffs, the SG Standard 61 moves effortlessly between styles.

The body and neck are crafted from mahogany, complemented by an Indian rosewood fretboard with trapezoidal mother-of-pearl inlays on a 12" radius. With 22 medium jumbo frets on a 24.75" scale, the SG offers playing comfort that proves its worth both in the studio and live. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop bar, and Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with trapezoidal buttons complete an instrument that respects Gibson's legacy in every detail.
