Ibanez Prestige RG653DX Transparent Deep Blue Flat

The Ibanez RG653DX Prestige combines a fast neck with the expression of an Edge tremolo

The Ibanez Prestige RG653DX Transparent Deep Blue Flat is built for guitarists who don't want their technique limited by their instrument. This Japanese RG combines an ash body with a maple and walnut Super Wizard HP Prestige neck. The blue finish, bound rosewood fretboard, and Acrylic & Abalone block inlays give it a distinctive look, but its core remains functional: a fast playing experience, two versatile DiMarzio humbuckers, and an Edge tremolo for expressive work. It is an attractive combination for players who take tight riffs and melodic leads equally seriously.

The DiMarzio Air Norton and The Tone Zone give this RG two different approaches to your sound. The Air Norton offers a full foundation for fluid melodies, while The Tone Zone lends itself to powerful rhythm work and pronounced lead parts. With the five-way switch, volume, and tone controls, you can find the right balance between definition and body. Through a heavily overdriven amplifier, you can work on a clear attack and sustained notes; with less gain, there is room for the nuances of your right hand. The Edge tremolo adds subtle vibrato and larger pitch movements.

The maple/walnut neck features a rosewood fretboard with a 17-inch radius, 24 frets, and a 25.5-inch scale length. The slim Super Wizard HP profile offers an immediate starting point for rapid position changes, wide intervals, and technical playing. The Acrylic & Abalone block inlays make positions easy to identify and complement the refined Prestige aesthetic. Gotoh machine heads, black hardware, and the Edge tremolo bridge complete the equipment. This instrument weighs 3.49 kg and comes with a hardcase.
