Mateus Asato is one of the most influential guitarists of his generation, with a playing style that effortlessly moves between extreme technique, deep expression, and almost vocal melodic lines. His signature guitar is the result of intensive collaboration with John Suhr: an instrument meticulously tuned to Mateus' playing style in every detail. The Shell Pink finish on the Alder body with gold hardware makes this guitar unmistakably his.

The tone is determined by the Asatobucker in the bridge and two V63+ single-coils in the middle and neck positions. The Asatobucker was specifically developed for Mateus' expressive playing style: warm, dynamic, and sensitive to every nuance of the attack. In the in-between positions, the V63+ pickups combine with the Asatobucker for a clear, layered sound not found in standard HSS guitars. The Gotoh 510 bridge with a steel block ensures stable tuning during intensive whammy bar use.

The Roasted Maple neck with Indian Rosewood fretboard and Even C Medium profile (.840"-.920") feels inviting and fast in hand. The 9"-12" compound radius makes chording low on the neck as comfortable as expressive bends in higher positions. The 22 Heavy Stainless Steel frets (.051"x.108") play smoothly and will last a lifetime. Volume, tone, and a 5-way switch, Suhr locking tuners, 25.5" scale, weight 3.63 kg, includes hardshell case.
