Shamel Ash and Tropical Mahogany in a Kona Burst: the Builder's Edition 524ce with an unexpected character
The Taylor Builder's Edition 524ce is a Grand Auditorium guitar that stands out due to a special wood combination: Shamel Ash back and sides, combined with a Tropical Mahogany top and neck. Shamel Ash is a relatively rare tonewood with a bright, open character and a beautiful grain that adds depth to the Kona Burst finish. The result is an instrument that looks different from most Taylor guitars and also sounds different: lighter and brighter than a classic mahogany combination, with a direct response and a well-defined tone.
The Tropical Mahogany top gives the 524ce a warm, focused midrange that works well for both strumming and fingerpicking. The V-Brace construction ensures excellent resonance and a balanced tone across the entire register. The Grand Auditorium body offers the versatility for which this size is known: enough volume for stage use, enough balance for intimate playing. The Gotoh 510 Antique Chrome tuners and the ebony bridge and fretboard with Faux Pearl Compass inlays give the guitar a refined, vintage-inspired look.
The Builder's Edition finish means rounded edges and extra attention to playing comfort. The guitar is equipped with a pickup and comes with a hardshell case.
The Taylor Builder's Edition 524ce is for the guitarist who is looking for an instrument that goes off the beaten path, both in wood combination and in character.
